    Odd problem with the car

I drive an electric car. It is fantastic during D for Daylight but as soon as the sun goes down and I set it to N for Nighttime the damn thing won’t move.

    Say Hello

Just remember the 5 isn't really an MG. If you want the family roots of the MG5, that is based on: The Roewe Ei5, which is based on: The Roewe i5, which is based on: The Roewe 360, which is based on: The Roewe 350, which is based on: The Buick Excelle, which is based on: The Hyundai Lacetti...

    EV charging price comparison tool

Eyeup EV-ers. Saw a reference to this site today. Looks moderately useful. Compare Public EV Networks Now, if they pitched in with reliability tables as well, that'd be even more useful.

    Maybe interesting to a few

A few lots from lot 9577 onwards on this auction site may be of interest. Beware of Buyers Premium. "Internet charge", postage and VAT, which can add significantly to the hammer price. Caveat emptor...

The arguments for EVs over Hydrogen fuelled cars

Er.... Not the whole story. The tank farm near Heathrow is fed by pipelines from one or two refineries (can't recall which ones - I've been asleep several times since I had dealings with the project but I think Stanlow was involved). Fuel is then distributed to the aircraft stands via a pipework...

A NOT SO short update on our British Gas Hive EV charger installation.

Helped daughter install a Hive central heating controller. Based on my experience with her Hive, I'm glad I opted for a Drayton Wiser for myself. Only a few small problems over the past 3 years and the few times I've needed it, the support has been exemplary. Are you trying to tell us that...

    Miniture EVs

Check out the "Swingbin Racer". It's based on a Swingbin bottom for the nosecone, a fabricated chassis and body tub with an old cordless drill bearing against the rear wheel for motive power. Here's my take on it, which I built for the grandkiddies 5 years ago, when they were a lot smaller. It...

The downside to that is, of course, admitting you go to bed with a grandmother.

    KW and kWh explained

Then to chuck a curved ball across, there's mpge https://www.kbb.com/car-advice/what-is-mpge/ - And remember that's US gallons. 1 imperial gallon = a tad over 1.2 US gallons so the mpge calculated against the formula on that website above would be worse by a factor of 1.2 if you are using...

    KW and kWh explained

Yup. And Amperes at constant Volts gives Watts of course (Volts X Amps = Watts) So yer 350kW charge point can fill a suitably capable battery more than twice as quick as a 150kW charge point. 350kW going into a big, big battery for an hour would pump in 350kWh (simplistically, of course)...

What is the best phone network for charging apps?

The car itself. Yes. I refer the Honourable Member to the MG5 SR instruction book, pages 185 and 186. The connection to your own phone, on the other hand, is via Bluetooth and uses your own phones system connection with all its costs, limitations and restrictions.

What is the best phone network for charging apps?

I don't think there's any SIM card or specific network involved. It's an Emergency Call. I believe you can make an emergency call on a phone, even without it being on your preferred/home network or even actually having a SIM installed in the first place.
