    Using a Granny Charger.

I got this one from Screwfix ………. MASTERPLUG 13A 1-GANG UNSWITCHED EXTENSION LEAD 10M (44635) Its £17.64 at the moment. Very good buy. Never use an ordinary extension, this one is heavy-duty. Lots of EV owners have bought it from my extensive reading about the subject.

    Using a Granny Charger.

Apart from a few free charges at supermarkets, I have been using the granny for the last nine months. I was originally going to use money saved up to install a home charger but a few hefty dental bills due to moving and unable to get an NHS one and a hefty private operation to pay for in the...

    Courtesy Car

I’ve had courtesy cars offered over the years ranging from ‘free’ at Skoda to ‘£20’ at Mercedes! At the Mercedes, I decided to take a walk first, then came back to finish my wait with a good book!

Driving from to Scotland from London

Thanks mate! We often stay at the Travelodge at Excel but no charger as upset! Might try Novotel next time as I believe they have one although it is not on Zap-Map yet. Quite a few chargers missing off it, I find.

Driving from to Scotland from London

Do you mind telling me where you stayed at in London that had a charger available? We usually stay near Excel and take the DLR in but now we’ve got an EV the hotel having a charger is important. The only hotel in the Excel area with charging is the Hampton by Hilton but that’s a little pricey...

    Getting slightly concerned…….

Battery health? Warm before you start charging? What is this? Plug it in! Get some leccy juice to power it up. Take the plug out. Get in. Put it in drive. Off you go. Not many miles left on guessometer on your dashboard? Repeat the process. Easy as pie!

    Big Hello from N. Ireland

Hi there Alan! A very warm welcome to you, welcome to the forum! We are all quite tolerant on here so don’t hesitate to ask any question, no matter how trivial or maybe stupid it seems - one of us will probably have had the same question in our early days as well! Are you also new to...

    Just joined!

And a warm welcome from me as well! Something that you need to do is to keep your fingers crossed regarding the delivery date! Many members have of course commented upon how ‘fluid’ the actual delivery date will be. I suppose that you shouldn’t hold your breath either as that original October...

Scenario: Your car is delayed until Sept. What other cars are you looking at?

When I was looking, way back in August, the MG5 had a wait of about three to four months. On the same day, rang up a Kia dealers to be told that their wait was well over five to six months for an e-Niro! Similar sort of waits for other brands was given when I rang them up. I’d already decided on...

Experience from my first long drive

I agree with the bit about McDonalds. I hate the stuff they peddle but they are putting in chargers! Nearby in Lincoln, they have just installed a new set of two chargers with four connectors. They are situated in the retail park where Sainsburys is - a supermarket that is particularly laggard...

Experience from my first long drive

This is the right approach to take! Quite a few chargers available usually just a short distance from a junction, often with a better choice of food that’s cheaper as well! When I was driving an ICE in the 90s and 00s I used a website on the laptop, that gave petrol stations very close to the...

We are creeping up into the play-offs but, like your lot, our record in them is not good!

    245 Mile Trip

I’m rechargeable in many ways about the house apart from the MG5. I also have a rechargeable mower, hedge cutter, strimmer, beard trimmer, several torches, worklights and many rechargeable NimH batteries for all sorts of things!

    Unbelievable! [ Charging etiquette ]

This is an excellent app mate! I must put it on my phone forthwith. Now if we can use it or something similar to message ICE drivers who park in EV charging spaces we have all bases covered! Incidentally after Spurs whopping Leeds, I was hoping that you could pick up some points this afternoon...
