I had one a few years back and ended up with problems getting it into 5th gear where it was possible to get the lever into the 5th position and either get 3rd or completely miss the gear completely.
Even had the gearbox replaced and it happened again.
Then I managed to do that on a courtesy...
EV Energy App mostly works with Octopus, it won't work with intelligent, but it does usually work with Agile/GO.
I have had a couple of instances where it didn't have the correct rates for Agile for some reason, presumably the data download failed.
I do wonder if I did decide to swap out my current charger for a new one if I'd be better trying to find a local electrician rather than the manufacturers installers.
Also wonder what they'd do about Penn fault protection if the new charger comes with it, as I have an external device in the...
Not for a while yet, 3G will go first, there's still too much stuff around that uses 2G/GPRS.
But I've seen cases where Openereach will remove the copper line when installing FTTP even when it still had an active service on the old line.
A 10mm spanner comes in handy in this situation, turn the car off/disconnect it from the charger, use the spanner to loosen the negative terminal of the 12v battery. Disconnect the terminal wait about 30seconds or so and reconnect it. (Don't forget to re-tighten it, don't want a loose...
This is the same Dave who said one of shells chargers were exceedingly expensive, whilst showing an osprey unit's roaming price with the shell card :-/ (Ok so it's shells crappy webmap showing the non shell chargers but still)
The "Rapid" in Duns had a 45minute overstay penalty, but said "Rapid" was only something like a 25 or 30KW unit which wasn't the most useful.
Most of the ones i've seen with overstay fees tend to be something like 45-90Mins on the Rapids and at least a couple hours on the A/C posts.
I guess...
Interesting device, not had it long enough to determine long time reliability but so far it’s connected to the MG every time unlike my carlinkit v3 mini which sometimes won’t for some reason
The one I got was the tbox mini which seems to have similar specs to a rather low end smartphone and as...
Decided to try one of these carplay "AI" (There's nothing AI about them they just run android) dongles on my MG5 (PFL) to see if it's an upgrade from my Carlinkit mini v3 which occasionally decides it doesn't wish to talk to the car and also won't firmware update anymore (I wonder if it's a...
You can order an RFID card from them using the app (or at least you used to be able to), I think you'll still get the telemetry in the app if you start a charge with it, but I might be mis-remembering as it's been a while since I've used an instavolt.
Edit:
Settings > My RFID cards - There...
Given the control protocol has the ability to specify charging currents down to 6A and the cost of even the portable EVSEs (Granny chargers) I really don't see why they're not all adjustable down to 6A (Infact this should really be the default and you should have to select 8 or 10A) as surely...
I guess the electronics are tiny as there's a citreon one for charging the AMI (which has a EU schuko plug) - I'm not sure how wise it would be to use one as presumably whilst you can trick the chargepoint into thinking you are an EV you wouldn't respond to any requests to reduce load like an...
Any recommendations for a dash-cam, I declined the dealer option when I bought my MG5 as they wanted a lot of money for fitting a fairly basic (1080p only) nextbase one.
I had been using a cheapo Supercap based one just placed in the windscreen for many years but I managed to break the usb...
Title was A1/M1/M69 ;-)
I was looking pretty much from Near Newcastle down to the Midlands wetherby was the only hub I saw along that route, all the other MSA's seem to be the normal 1-2 Gridserve chargers.
Can't see anything obvious near the A1/other motorways either, few Instavolt sites but...
Is it me or is this terrible for charger availability in terms of almost everything except for wetherby only being 1 or 2 50kw chargers?
There's some possible 120KW instavolt sites nearby, but these often only have 2 chargers as well.
Wheres all the hubs for this side of the country?
I did this once in a gridserve bay but only because the charge session failed to start then the car got stuck in a fault state and I couldn't move it. (went to use the facilities before getting stuck waiting for breakdown, when I came back the fault had cleared)
