KERS is better than braking because you get some energy back instead of using it to heat up your brake pads and discs, however KERS will be at best 20% efficient; so if you can avoid KERS then you can potential save that 80+%.
There was a batch of MG ZS EVs that came in at the end of last year that had passenger doors that wouldn't open from the inside. I understand that some new MG5s also had this problem. It was fixed by replacing the door latches. There was quite a wait for replacement latches (I had to wait nearly...
No economy just kills the HVAC and regen is at best 20% efficient and level 3 is way too high I find to be able to coast and level 1 too low for town driving so 2 seems the optimum for me.
Had an MG5 as a courtesy car for nearly 4 months and the biggest thing I miss about it is that it defaults to KERS 2. As the ZS defaults to KERS 3 I also find it SO annoying that I have to flick a switch every time I start the car to get it to 2.
Equalisation only happens at 100% so state of charge when the charging starts is irrelevant.
[Edit} The one issue you'll probably have is not getting to 100% in 6 hours. Just use the "proper" charger!
Whatever's the most comfortable for you. I like the default of 2 but for efficiency then the lower the better; regen is more efficient than braking but avoiding regen is even better efficiency wise.
I've been driving an new MG5, not facelift version though, for over a month now while waiting for my ZS to be fixed of its door issues. One thing I really like in the MG5 is that the default KERS level is 2 instead of 3. Has this been carried over to the facelift MG5? Also wonder why the ZS...
Will it just charge to 100%? I tried to find a setting for the charge limit but couldn't find anything so am assuming it'll go to 100% if I just leave it (and it is indeed charging  )
Is there a way to tell if the MG5 is charging? I've got a brand new (non-facelift) loaner while the ZS is being looked at and I cannot see any LEDs to indicate if it's charging. Just spent an hour on a podpoint 7kW and confirmed on the app but got diddly squat added when I got back in. Plugged...
I was thinking more that this problem was something that had been happening to the MG ZS facelift and should've been sorted but rather has just been re-applied to the latest MG5.
