Hi,

Octopus Intelligent gives 6 hrs of 10p per KW and to do my balance charge I use my granny charger rather than a Ohme Home Pro. (Recommended by MG service team.) To reduce the cost and time charging to 100% and equalising, i‘m thinking of charging the car to 70% using my 7KW feed and then switching to the granny over night. But. . . will the car still do an equalisation charge if the granny starts charging at 70%?

Thanks so much.
Paul

Equalisation only happens at 100% so state of charge when the charging starts is irrelevant.

[Edit} The one issue you'll probably have is not getting to 100% in 6 hours. Just use the "proper" charger!

When the charge reaches 100% the charge rate drops to 300W while the car performs the battery balance. How much rapid charging you do will vary how long the balance takes.
