I've removed the rear seat base a few times now - it does require a reasonable amount of force as @severs1966 says. If I need to put a a lot of stuff in the back it certainly gives more space. I wouldn't want to do it too often though - always a little worried about damaging the seat, which is...
I've changed my habits a bit. Always change KERS to 3 but don't bother with Sports mode as I wheel spin too much - Normal still works fine for beating up ICE vehicles at the lights.
Economy is great on on long trips - just calms everything down a bit. I often override the AC econ setting if...
Hi all. Currently on holiday in France in my MG5 <2021).
Tesla Superchargers are available in some locations, I tried charging at Folkestone and again in France. The Tesla app worked fine, however each time it didn't start charging. It appears it can't recognise it?
Anyone else had issues or...
Interesting feedback @popcorn . If I'd got keen and ordered an Enyaq I'd have 12 months to wait, so hopefully bugs would have been sorted by then. I totally agree with your cost/benefit analysis though!
You'll see a few niggles about the software - esp. Android Auto. Although since the last...
@JohnInFrance - Fair do's - I will know for next time.
It's interesting that I've seen loads of chat about planning trip etc, but never much about this subject before.
In order to estimate the power used - Forgive me if this is overly simple, but if I arrive at 10% and charge to 60% then can't...
Agreed.
I think in general not enough is made of the fact that EV's are just so nice, quiet and relaxing to drive. I find the MG5 great on longer trips, where I've been doing pretty much all the driving - much less tiring than my old Diesel S-Max.
I went for a test drive in an Enyaq iV this week - to satisfy my curiosity..
Bit of context. I have three kids 11 to 13 - approaching adult size - so when we go on holiday it's three in the back (my wife is allowed the front passenger seat..)
Previous car was a Ford S-Max - it has three evenly...
No it was fair enough. I expect that more formal arrangements will start to be made for this situation as EV's get more common. We had 5 days at a posh campsite-type of place where we had a cabin (Sandaya Les Alicourts - I recommend). We noticed a few other vehicles about also plugging in.
It was just a bog standard euro adaptor that you get in any services. It seemed OK - I was worried about it overheating so checked a few times and it seemed OK. I also tried to charge in evenings when it was cooler
Ouch! Fair enough @smokie .
When we stayed with a host on our ski trip I did ask and they had no problem with it.
Maybe I should have raised it. directly. I will go off and search for my moral compass..
Hi all. Just a few observations on our recent - and very pleasant - trip to France.
Our previous trip - which was our first - was for skiing in the French Alps - and it had some challenges - 3+ charges in one day meant a much longer journey..
This time we spend two weeks around Normandy, Loire...
Yes should be fine. I've not tended to sit inside whilst it charges, but I often unlock the car whilst charging - it turns the display on so I can see the progress of charging and hasn't stopped it charging yet!
Funny what seems easy and what doesn't. I've had mine since December and only just started using the Auto Park Brake - pressed it by accident and thought "how helpful - I don't need to keep my foot on the brake".. I don't always use it though - don't like how jerky it is when the brake releases...
That's a good shout actually. We have a roof box that is good for being fairly streamlined and hopefully the extra drag doesn't reduce range too much. But it is best for putting soft bags etc in.
When we go camping the big stuff has to go in the car.
If we had something like that we could put a...
