Post-Impressionism (also spelled Postimpressionism) was a predominantly French art movement that developed roughly between 1886 and 1905, from the last Impressionist exhibition to the birth of Fauvism. Post-Impressionism emerged as a reaction against Impressionists' concern for the naturalistic depiction of light and colour. Its broad emphasis on abstract qualities or symbolic content means Post-Impressionism encompasses Les Nabis, Neo-Impressionism, Symbolism, Cloisonnism, the Pont-Aven School, and Synthetism, along with some later Impressionists' work. The movement's principal artists were Paul Cézanne (known as the father of Post-Impressionism), Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh and Georges Seurat. The term Post-Impressionism was first used by art critic Roger Fry in 1906. Critic Frank Rutter in a review of the Salon d'Automne published in Art News, 15 October 1910, described Othon Friesz as a "post-impressionist leader"; there was also an advert for the show The Post-Impressionists of France. Three weeks later, Roger Fry used the term again when he organised the 1910 exhibition Manet and the Post-Impressionists, defining it as the development of French art since Édouard Manet.
Post-Impressionists extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations: they continued using vivid colours, sometimes using impasto (thick application of paint) and painting from life, but were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms, distort form for expressive effect, and use unnatural or modified colour.
First off, a thank-you to the many posters here on the forum - and most particularly to the gentleman who shares the workshop guides on his website. These have all been invaluable.

Dear MG community,
This will be my last post on this forum.
Unfortunately, my wife has recently said goodbye to our MG ZS Hybrid+ in a serious accident. She failed to yield and drove into the path of a truck traveling at an estimated speed of 60 km/h. It was a significant collision — witnesses...
I have had both and I think an interesting idea for pre MY24 cars is building in my mind. I do nearly the same trip most days in winter and summer. We all know that cold has a major effect on Battery efficiency. The pre MY24 cars have open Grills at the front. Post MY24 have automatic grills...
Always balanced my 4 half an hour drawing low levels.
Post update it was going for 2.5 hours … I had to stop it as I was going to work. Is that normal ?
A few days ago I saw a post, either on here or facebook, from someone in England selling 4 wheels for an MG5 Trophy. I wasn't interested at the time but now I want them and I can't find the post anywhere. Did anyone else see it and can point me in the right direction?
Later that day.....

Hello Everyone,
I have an Oct 2022 MG4 Trophy (so one of the early UK cars). I was running R33 software for an age and after a protracted battle got my dealer this week to upgrade, under warranty, to what I now know to be ver R63.
I was especially looking forward to one pedal driving being an...
Hi All,
Finally got around to ordering my company car last week, went for an XPower on a 2yr lease.
As it's a company car it's ordered direct from MG and not through a dealership, and they gave an expected delivery date of 20/10/24.
This was then pushed to 20/11/24 and updated today to say...
As the previous post went off topic, please use this thread for listing those dealers who do the update for free. This will help anyone who is in range of one of those dealers to get the update.
Also, listing your model of MG may be helpful.
I've had a look and can't find a Picture thread. Preferably one that you've taken yourself. So I'll start one.
First mow of the season for Sankey Valley, the resident Swans have had six Cygnets this year. I'll keep a look out for them, when I mow Sankey Valley, once a month. ??
