state of health
In the domain of Electric Vehicles, State of health (SoH) is a figure of merit of the condition of a battery (or a cell, or a battery pack), compared to its ideal conditions. The unit of SoH is percent (100% = the battery's conditions match the battery's specifications).
Typically, a battery's SoH will be 100% at the time of manufacture and will decrease over time and use. However, a battery's performance at the time of manufacture may not meet its specifications, in which case its initial SoH will be less than 100%. The biggest factors that contribute to battery degradation are driver patterns, driver aggression, climate, cabin thermal dynamics, and infrastructure, with driver patterns and climate being the biggest.
Hi
I have mg zs ev LR 23 plate(UK), what’s the best way to check SoH, i tried car scanner and obd 2 bluetooth scanner but that's not working with it(it works fine with kia e-niro though). I got eZS app from android also, but that’s also not connecting to scanner, do i need special obd scanner...
At 5 yrs and 40,000 miles my battery at recent service check was down to 85% is that about right? Also, how do I force a balancing charge. The car has never asked me to do one.
An article in Auto Express says they last longer than expected. Cars with 160000 miles on the clock still showed 95% SOH.

Hi everyone! My ZS will be going into the shop soon and I'd like to ask them for an HV battery SOH/report. I'd like to give them an example of what a proper report looks like, from an official MG dealer/service center (they are one as well). I don't want to pick up the car by the end of the day...
I've mentioned in a couple of other posts that my Mk1 battery state of health reports as being lower than desired. Currently it is 88.4% (confirmed at last service and also my own OBD2 reader) after 28,000 miles and 4 years with relatively little rapid charging. So I decided to try to...
Anyone else having a really poor experience with the MG service team?
The latest for me is that they have ticked that they have checked the HV state of charge & state of health but not written it down (they have done the same for the previous 2 years). I called to find out what it was and they...
