Drove down to Wales today from Oxfordshire, car really handled well, no steaming up like I used to get in the ZS, even though I drove through some heavy rain without the AC on, slow traffic round Cardiff and the ACC worked well but blowed if I can find how to resume if you need to brake. Achieved 139kW at a 150kW charger.

RTFM

I only count over 500 miles in a day as a long trip in my MG5. 625 miles is my record. 😁 ACC is great for me.
You have set me a challenge! In three weeks, I am doing 569 miles to Bavaria for an overnight stop, 360 miles next day to Leoben in Austria. 8 days later, Leoben to home in one go (913 miles). 4 days later, back out to Strasbourg for 7 days. Makes these 'long' trips in the UK seem rather tame! MG5 Trophy

I regularly drive across Europe. The empty fast auto routes allow really long trips. Strasbourg is a beautiful city. Drove back from there last year in a day.

A Christmas drive to Portugal in low temperatures was a challenge. Charging is slower and heating eats into the range. Had to drop under 500 miles a day due to that and getting tired in the shorter days and bad weather too.

You could have been nicer about it, or ignored the thread altogether if it upset you.
The funny thing is I had worked it out without reference to the manual or a forum but then I have been driving for over 60 years and didn't think anybody needed to ask the question it was so obvious.

So, 913 miles in one go?

Blog about it here: -

I have followed your trips with great interest and found them very informative. I have travelled to Spain and Italy regularly for over 40 years but with ICE vehicles. Since my first MG5 in 2021, I have been all over France and Belgium but this will be the longest trip so far. The non stop trip back was just one of those things I couldn't avoid. The trip to Strasbourg was booked some months ago, with an overnight stop planned. My son then found out that he had been selected to represent his country in the World Team Championships being held in Austria the week before so I offered to drive him as he has a lot of stuff he needs to take with him. Unfortunately, it ends Sunday evening and he needs to be at work on the Tuesday, hence my predicament. Ho hum...

I look forwards to your blog!

The longest drives I know for a MG5 owners are Sarah Go Green back 800 miles to Wales from Berlin and Manchester to Gibraltar non-stop (exc charging) for a charity run 1685 miles each way with 2 drivers.

I did 1367 miles, with 2 night stops to Portugal in December 2023 and 1315 miles back in January. Longer on the way out as the shorter routes was thick freezing fog, minus 10 and snow covered.

I will try and do so, but hope it won't be as challenging as yours. Also, I will post it on the MG5 forum to avoid confusion (and envy) from MG S5 owners
