Not sure if this counts but we drove our ZS from NW Leics to Barcelona for the F1 last year, in part to prove it can be easily done. Home -> Portsmouth, full charge, ferry to Bilbao, drove half-way, charged for free at the hotel, Barcelona the next day, stayed in a hotel with free charging for a week, did similar on the return but did an extra night because we could. We did the odd paid-for charge just in case there was an issue with the hotels which did happen once - my granny charger hanging out the managers window kept tripping, lesson learned is speak to the hotels and know exactly what you are getting before you book, don't rely on the booking.com entry!
