@Lovemyev ….cheers, had the horn sounding several times, also find it annoying that you can only see the total mileage by using steering wheel button < > to find it amongst the accumulated figures

Yeah - Somebody thought it was a good idea ?.
There is a few of them idea’s in the car.

Possibly the battery was settling in after not being used before. The % change may be the car gathering real driving data for the first time.

Easy

Go to the battery settings menu (Either by pressing that portion of the screen or flipping the battery switch above the gear selector)

When you have the image of your car, where you can set how full you want the battery and so on, in the right hand corner in the top, there is a button called something like "charge settings".

Press that button and there is the toggle switch for the preheating of the battery

I will give it a go.
It tends to act more like other cars now.
My VW and my wife's Fiat 500 is the same.
If you turn off the engine, the radio will continue to play for about ten minutes, then unless you turn on the ignition again, it will just cut out / close down the radio.
I think this was adopted to prevent people from leaving the radio still turned on and then leave the car.
Returning to find a flat 12 volt battery.
So, a built in timer delay was used to prevent this happening.

We've got a ZS LR, the radio continues to play until you lock the car. Can be a bit irritating if you've had it on loud, find yourself having to turn it down at the end of your journey

Yeah - It’s a bit of a strange set up really ?.
I have often wondered WHY it is set up this way ???.
It’s no big shake really, but it’s a bit ODD one for sure ?.

To stop the radio playing press the stop/play button on the infotainment screen. This works with the radio as well as other media.

I think they've done it this way to make sure you lock the car. Having to press the button to lock it is something I still struggle with. We also have a Renault zoe, you just need to walk away with key in your pocket and the car locks itself and gives you a wee beep so you know it's locked. MG should've done it the same way

Yeah - I do see where you are coming from on that score .
I have to admit, that I have left the car on a couple of occasions and not pressed the STOP button hard enough, then wondered why the horn beeps when I try to lock it !.
First making sure I have correctly closed all of the doors and the boot and it still beeps the horn !.
Bit of head scratching the first time this happened, then spotted that the radio was still playing, opened the drivers door to find the car was still powered up ready to drive !.
Another - Dooh Moment !..
Press the STOP button and now all is well.
I have done this about three times now.
It’s what happens when you get to a certain age in life.
You get these small brain farts ? ?.

"Once the car reaches 100%, the car will go into a mode called balancing. The ZS EV battery pack is made up of hundreds of smaller individual battery cells. Best way to describe it, you just filled up your ice cub tray with water from the tap very quickly. Most of the cubes are full (they are the individual battery cells) but a few are not. What you do now is with a very slow trickle from the tap, you top up each of the empty cubes until they are all level and full with each over. You can unplug if you want but it’s best to leave the car to balance if you can, it helps with battery health. When balancing, its using 300-500w of power per each hour. Balancing can take a while, either once the car reaches 8 hours or it’s perfectly balanced it will shut down, whichever is first. A misbalanced battery can take multiple full charges to get back to balance. The ZS EV will warn you if you need to do a balance charge, saying "Please Slow-Charge the Vechicle". Any AC will do this, but make sure you leave it once its got to 100% to do it's balance. How do I know it's balancing when I don't have a fancy smart EVSE, you may ask. Well the MG badge at the front will be solid on (not pulsing) when balancing. Once done, the badge will turn off.
