A few minor bugs

The one thing which I find VERY irritating is that when the D mode is engaged, without putting any pressure on the accelerator, the car creeps forward. I know this is what Sludgomatic transmissions do due to the torque converter running, but this does not have a transmission. So I am assuming it is programmed in to seem like a Auto.
How do I turn that off?
I have bought this car as there are stuff all manual cars on the market. To have this car emulate a schizerbox model is not ideal.

Further to @siteguru 's comment re OPD I now don't bother enabling OPD any more as I find setting the regen level to 3 and enabling Autohold works just as well for me and those settings are remembered across driving sessions.

The regen 3 braking effect is almost the same as OPD and the Autohold function is really simple to engage when you want it if you've come to a stop.

You just lightly press the brake pedal again after stopping.

You can see when it engages on the main drive screen as the small A will change colour from white to green.

The car will now hold until you press the accelerator and move off.

To be honest, I have my foot on the brake pedal whilst engaging D, and only then moving it to the accelerator pedal.

I am not used to driving Sludgomatic cars and this just feels wrong. I guess I will have to try to remember to put it in OPD each time.

The Polestar 2 had a setting to turn the "Creep Mode" on. It stayed off while I had it. At least it's OK when going.

Why wouldn't you try what I suggested?

You just set it and forget.

Yes, I turn off "creep mode" when I hire a Polestar 2.

In our MG4s I have "Autohold" enabled.

Driver's door button seems to be intermittent. Have to press a few times to unlock. When I close the door it usually doesn't lock and I have to press the remote. Assuming this is a door switch error, that I can get fixed at the service which is due. If I am making a mistake then I would like to know.

I find there is sometimes a delay between pushing the door button and it responding. It is like the systems are processing other tasks before it acknowledges the button push

It feels perfectly normal and is very useful in stop go slow moving traffic. Otherwise, you simply put the foot on the brake while in 'N' and select 'D'. If you don't want to creep forward, flick the e-brake on when you are at stop lights etc. takes 2 seconds, easy, no issues at all.

What you call a fault others may call a boon.

I find using the "double tap" to engage "hold" extremely easy and intuitive.

Mine is the plain white, so am hoping that will match easier.

I recall someone else, who had both door buttons fail, grumbling that his dealer didn't even manage to match white.

This discussion makes me wonder if some people like OPD because they don't know about autohold and with OPD they can take their feet off the pedals - but so can you with Autohold.

I like creep, it is very easy and controlled in traffic and I don't have to keep my foot on the accelerator to trundle slowly along with the traffic.

By the way, there is talk of a double-tap to Autohold. I never double tap, just pushing the brake a bit harder than necessary to stop switches on Autohold immediately.

I had a test drive in an X-Power with OPD and liked it, but I couldn't honestly tell you what was different. The salesman said the OPD was a harder regen setting than regen 3. I do like the creep through because you can use it to avoid coming to a complete stop at lights or in a queue when you see you're about to move off again.

I'm not sure how this is happening, in mine the parking brake stays on until I press the accelorator.

Not in my case anyway. I can take or leave creep it doesn't worry me.
I don't think there's much difference in the level of regen either.

What I love about OPD is how smooth the drive is with it, apart from the take off, where there is a slight jerk as the brake comes off and you start moving. The creep take off is smoother..

with our car I find the brake pedal response varies a bit insensitivity, slowing right down for sharp corners and coming to a stop is very hard to get smooth. OPD is much easier.

I must not have had OPD on before, thought I had selected it but maybe it switched off before I started. The OPD is the way I like it. Pity it cannot default ON.

If you turn it on when getting in the car, and then put the car in Ready mode, it will reset everything to default again (the things that default anyway) so be mindful to do your pre-flight checklist after putting the car in ready mode.
