A weighty problem

I think we can all agree that the MG5 is a physically larger car than the MG4 , longer, more glass area etc so apart from it having a smaller motor (batteries around the same size) does it weigh around 80-90 kilos (5%) less? Its on an older platform which you could possibly expect to be heavier and giving it a cursory glance the seating looks plusher and heavier. Would the smaller motor account for all of these published differences?

Assuming that the weights are correct, I can only speculate that the MG4 platform is a beefier platform than the MG5, and can handle way more power and four wheel drive and retain its great handling characteristics.
