Hello. I need to find out the part number of the AGS connector from my car’s wiring harness. Unfortunately, the cable has come loose and I can’t match it up. It would also be helpful to have a photo showing which coloured cables go into which pins. Can any of you help?

I’ve been let astray by AI a few times, however it sometimes releases a nugget of information that can see you on your way. This is what it spit out for me, perhaps you can find out more about the JST connectors to see if they’re the same?

AI:

Pin Configuration and Functionality
While MG's proprietary internal wiring diagrams are not always public, the active grille shutter actuators for the MG4 (such as parts 11183315 or 11183316) typically use a standard 3-pin or 4-pin interface found in modern LIN bus (Local Interconnect Network) systems.
Common pin assignments for this type of automotive actuator include:

  • Power (12V): Supplies the electricity needed to move the shutter blades.
  • Ground: Completes the electrical circuit.
  • LIN Bus (Communication): A single wire used by the vehicle’s ECU to send "open" or "close" commands and receive feedback from the actuator.

Connector and Part Details
  • Location: The shutters and their connector are positioned at the front of the vehicle, under the number plate area in models equipped with NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries.
  • Connector Type: The wiring harness often uses JST (Japan Solderless Terminal) JWPF-series waterproof connectors.
