I had problems with getting the Amazon Music app to work until I went to R59 (now on R63). It now works but given it's fiddly I just use Android Auto and streaming apps on there. Personally it was more about being annoyed by having a bit of broken software. Now that I know that it works (even with just a Prime subscription rather than Amazon Music Premium) I happily ignore it for the better experience on Android Auto.
I use the AA Wireless wireless dongle and now that I have a rim around the wireless charging pad I just chuck my phone on there and drive now.
