Evening guys,
Not totally MG4 related, but being as screenshots below are on my MG4.

Just wanted to share the following..
I'm a beta tester for Android Auto and yesterday received their much anticipated coolwalk update for beta testing.
So this will probably be public released early next year for you all.

The update changes the layout and look of android auto on the screen.

Looks very nice though and is smooth.

The layout is much better than what it is currently.

The buttons are moved to the sides and the screen is split much better than what we have now.

Map view can now be full screen.

And it can be showing on the left hand side even when not using the nav, unlike now which just shows a list of places when you're not using Google maps for navigating.

The station/album pic for internet radio, spotify etc is also much larger when using split screen with the map as main screen.

The transitions for switching between apps is very smooth, the screens slide across with each other and it looks great.

So it should be coming to all you android guys very soon. 🤞🏻

In case anyone is thinking it, the beta can be side loaded but it still won't work as far as I'm aware as it has to be enabled by Google at their end and is for registered beta testers only.
The window for becoming a tester is closed now too.

Just thought you might want to see how your android screens will look shortly.

Looks really cool.
On a connected note do you know when the pre prod version of AA will be replace by an official version?
An update has already been released according to members in the software update thread
Mine goes in 1st Dec for oil leak and software updates.
The pre prod isnt a Google/Android Auto thing it gets displayed because of MG not installing the paid licences when they should have.
Other manufacturers have also had the same, until the licence is paid to Google and the update put on the car.
I guess that's how Google make their money.
