Android auto screen ratio stretched

All fine with the system until today -android auto suddenly displays in a thinner, stretched screen aspect ratio. Weirdly, the buttons are clearly still in the same place in terms of touch (so to hit the right button you have to tap where it would normally be in terms of layout). This is not an issue in the home/system screen -only when connected to Android auto. It didn't do it this morning. Just randomly when I got back in the car. Can't find this problem mentioned elsewhere (on here/. Internet). Anyone experienced this?

I've tried restarting the car, the phone, changing cable etc.

I've never experience that. Which version of Infotainment does your car have?

I saw that once, but it cleared. I can't remember whether it was getting out and locking the car that did it, or whether I had to reboot the screen.

I saw someone else on the forum mention it, months ago.

Later on (after going into shops for 15 mins) it came back to normal. And just now I've had the mg logo stuck on the info screen. Cleared after holding home button and restarting. Service in 2 days. Seems a weird coincidence!

I just had exact same issue today and I held the Home button while parked and in Neutral/Park until the display rebooted. The issue was then resolved.
