Anyone had this problem

I was washing the car yesterday and found that the plastic around the inside if the charge port it cracked and coming away never had any impact the only thing I can think off is when charging someone has walked past hit the open port cover ?

Does the door still open/close as normal?

Yes still works fine for now but it’s the housing the door hinge is on don’t know how long it will hold up for

Head back to the dealer, it might take long enough to get a replacement part so the sooner you start the better.

i think someone has squeezed past the front off the car when its been charging and pushed the cover the wrong way putting pressure on the housing

I thought of that but there was clearly substantial force involved and it's difficult to see how that wouldn't affect the alignment and closure of the door.

Hi all
I’ve not had a look at mine yet
But could it be caused by the weight of a ccs connector and cable when fumbling to get it in the charge port
Just a thought
???????

The part that's broken is separate to the connector block.

It is separate to the connector block but the charger door hinge is part of it

I have done what I like to call a running repair till I can get a new part it’s not pretty but it works
