Anyone had this problem

Finally got around to fitting my new charger port housing removed all the bumper fittings as described in the video posted by Ian at this point I noticed I wouldn’t have to remove the full bumper just loosen at the wings and around the lights then pull forward this gives enough space to get to the back of the housing and with a stubby screwdriver you can remove the four screws and unclip the power cable for the door lock and it’s out the reverse to install

That really does look like damage from a significant impact rather than a manufacturing defect. Interesting that MG sell the whole sub-assembly including the locking mechanism.
