Back brakes

Hi all,

I recently bought a second hand mg5 (roughly 3 years old) and I have zero knowledge of cars. The back brakes look rusty. Not the part where the brake pads are but a little in front of that. (See attached photo)

Is this of a concern?

Hi @ssh, welcome to MGEVs, this is very common with all vehicle brakes, not just MG. This is what mine were like after just a year.


I painted mine black to match the wheel colour, and they look so much better for it.

Just be sure to use them a few times per trip, don't leave it all to the regen system and that should keep them clean.

That's good advice, but obviously it won't prevent these areas which don't come into contact with the brake pads from rusting.
