The MG badge which illuminates and fades when charging now remains on! I am concerned that it will flatten the battery after a while! Anyone know how to fix this issue please?

The charging process is to charge the battery until full, then to balance the charge between each cell in the battery - this is why the badge light changes.
You’ll find a tiny charge (trickle) is used to do this, until your charger will state the charge is complete. It can take a number of hours to do this - mine takes around 3 hours but then I’m a low mileage user and don’t charge regularly, so YMMV…
