I have a 2022 ZS EV
The MG dealer says that at the 4 year old mark, the battery main battery coolant has to be replaced, irrespective of the mileage the vehicle has done ( it will be approx 40,000)
Approx cost is $NZ 1,000 ( about 500 pounds)
Does this sound right?

It's 5 years or 75000 miles (120000km) over here.

Here it is also done at the 4 year service.

I would imagine the £500 is the full service, not just the system flush and replacement of fluid ?

Yes, the battery coolant is OAT coolant from memory. It's cheap to buy & doesn't need much. The labour to do this coolant change is probably just 30 mins or so. My MG dealer labour rate is £168 plus VAT per hour. So far from being £500.

I was told, they flush the coolant out, with, supposedly normal tap water, when it has been rinsed out completely, they flush the water with new coolant.

Yes, that's what we would do for ice engines too. Some dealers might use distilled or de-ionised water (at extra cost) but that isn't really needed as there are no water traps of any consequence. So straight forward tap water is ok.
