Hi
I have installed a dash cam with front and rear cameras, my question to you other MG users, do you disconnect yours at night or is it better to leave it running, I am worried it will drain the battery, it says on the box that it is 5volt and 1.5amp

There's an extensive thread on here about dash cam install along with a couple of excellent YouTube videos. As long as the dash cam is connected to the correct fuse (can't remember off top of head what one), then the camera will not draw any current when car is not in ready mode, ie not on.

Some dash cams have battery monitoring and will turn off when the 12v goes below a certain threshold which may be configurable either in the settings or on a switch on the hardwire kit.

Recipe for disaster knowing how flaky the 12V batteries are on our cars.
