Best / most efficient regen braking setting?

I leave it on default regen 3 most of the time, but switch it to A when driving on the freeway and using ACC/TJA as I find it makes the car decelerate a little more gently.

I use the left star button to change regen setting (a/c controls on the right star button).

I am happy with regen 3 BUT on motorways / long journeys I set to A. However, the system seems to reset back to 3 when I get back in the car after, say, a recharge. Strange that ?

Regen 3 is the default setting, same as how LKA defaults to on etc.
