BMS mid 2020 update

All I can say is as far my solution in Paulie's opinion is not the best, and I don't doubt Paulie is far more knowledgeable than I, I have used as have others this method for over a year with no noticeable
Bad effects. And as Paulie says it might cause premature failure, by the same token it might not. I am also of the opinion that now it's out of warranty, if the charger gives up, then it will be an excuse to get a charger that does work properly like the ohme.
I wouldn't worry too much, it'll probably be fine, its just not optimal as the unit is designed for a controlled "soft" disconnection by the control board circuitry when the signal line tells it to stop. What you are giving it is a "hard" power cut type of disconnect whilst its still giving out 32A. This can cause transient spikes that will stress the circuitry, but we're just talking a possibly shorter life. I was just pointing out the optimal way to upgrade. Switching the mains off is still quite safe. :)
