Refitted the parcel shelf today (gently!) and it was OK.

Hmm... It's a bit rough, as my eyesight is not 100%, but I'll go out and get one now.

You can see the remnants of Bicarb in the fabric pile.

The glue was a bit extra I put on, followed by a dusting of Bicarb. Not pretty, but it feels very strong.

Just an idea @securespark .
What about applying a very small film of silicon grease, into the receiving cups of the parcel shelf hinges ?, ( Vaseline will do at a push if you have any ).
So as you apply pressure on the shelf to remove and refit, it will release it a lot easier with a bit of lub ?.
It just takes the strain off the hinge as you try to release the hinge pin from its socket.
