Can there ever be enough DC chargers?

This is now open as of today

That is awesome. You can drive from anywhere in the country to the airport, put a few kWh's in the car, park up for a few weeks, and when you come back, fill up and drive off back home. That's the way to do it. :)

Manchester Airport could really do with one of these.
The only onsite charging is 6x 7kW AC chargers in one of the hotel car parks that cost £20 per 8 hour session.

Agreed, if anywhere has enough electricity capacity on site to install a charging infrastructure you would think it was an airport, the delays must be the bean counters trying to see how much profit can be screwed out of it.

Similar to Heathrow, but more expensive, which is why I park at Hounslow and get the tube.

I live 4 miles from Gatwick, maybe I should offer a ‘charge and fly’ service from my driveway. Guaranteed 100% charge when you land!

I still have issue with the cost per mile of these "forecourt" chargers. The real reason why my EV is cost effective is that I don't use them and plan all journeys in the MG5 that will get me home again. Anything longer and I get out the Diesel car, 450 mile range, 5-10 minutes and I have another 450 miles and no stress about finding somewhere to fill up that works. And it can tow.

I recognise that they cost money to set up but I am fairly sure they don't buy electricity at the rate I do.

I used the BP Pulse rapid chargers about a mile from the airport last time
The garage on the way to the tunnel under the runway? I don't trust BP's reliability.
However, there's now a 6x 150kW MFG garage at the Asda just North of the airport.

EDIT - WTF? The site won't let me post a Google Maps link!

Try posting it with text? e.g.

Google Maps Link

Fewer ......... ;)

It seems Arnold Clark will be introducing Charging Hubs at many of their motor stores.

(Scroll down to Locations).
I did! It just didn't seem to like Google this morning.

Map Link

Raw URL - https://maps.app.******/Mb7DkNAGC7BR7DCt9

EDIT - See? The stars should say goo . gl (without the spaces)

Code:
https://maps.app.goo .gl/Mb7DkNAGC7BR7DCt9
... becomes ...

Code:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/MFG+Charging+Station/@53.3783971,-2.2615534,18z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x487bad3b4685f9b5:0xf348b51e8b1ec0b3!8m2!3d53.3779031!4d-2.2611916!16s%2Fg%2F11st1mk__d?authuser=0&entry=ttu

... when you press Enter.

Using the latter in a text link you get this link here which works fine whereas the original version doesn't. So why not just use the long version? :)

I think it's called Airport SF Connect ? . I've not had any trouble with BP rapids ,though that one was a tad slow

I was hurried and just posted the link given when I clicked "share" on Maps.
I guess this forum doesn't realy like URL shorteners like that.
