Can you set battery levels of charging !

Hi 2022 mg zs Ev trying to set the battery to only charge up to 80% but it keeps going back up to 100% any ideas ! Also are you supposed to get a leather looking owners wallet with the car ! I got nothing as they said it was all on line , is that true ! Thanks

If you have a SR (standard range) ZS then you cannot set a charging limit. This is down to the battery chemistry difference to the LR battery meaning that it does not harm your battery to charge to 100% regularly on the SR.

Hi! If it’s a SR model, it’s normal, because it’s an LFP battery, you can’t lower the charge limit.
You need to keep these batteries equalized in order for them to work properly, and the equalizing/balancing happens at 100%.
Also, charging this type of battery to 100% causes no damage or degradation.

And so far, haven't heard of anyone here receiving an owners wallet since the manual is available digitally from MG's site (& I think also accessible via the infotainment screen), but if anyone has actually had one maybe they'll comment.

LR yes you should be able to set the 80% but not on the SR as it has LFP battery chemistry which is supposed to be regularly charged to100% to preserve maximum capacity, unlike the LR's Li-ion which should only be charged to 80% it is just MG hasn't updated the display software although charge limit is disabled.

ZS 2022 handbook is only PDF online, after all, most people don't read them anyway
