Car charging problem on winter season

It about -11 degrees celcius here and tried to charge my car on a public charging station but my car won’t charge. Seems that the charging port will not engage. «Connected but not charging» appears to the car screen.

Any tips that could help me with this issue.

I had this at home the other day and it was my fault I did not insert the type 2 all the way home

Had it once on SWMBO's 5, just jiggled the plug a bit and it started charging.

Mine wouldn't charge unti I realised the maximum charge was set lower than the current charge.
