Charge cable for public charge stations

I recently bought an MG HS PHEV which I’ve been charging with the 3 pin plug cable, supplied with the vehicle. I need to buy a cable to enable me to use public charge stations. I asked for advice in Halfords but was told I need to know the exact type, phase, Kw etc before they can help. Can someone advise me what I need to get please?

For an EV you need a type2 to type2 cable rated at 32A single phase.
Hopefully it will the same for your PHEV.

Yep, Type 2 to Type 2, Single Phase for the HS PHEV. I got one of these, works fine.

Any Type 2 to Type 2 cable will work with the MG. 16Amp single phase to 32 amp 3 phase.

The MG will only charge at 16 Amp single Phase, so in theory you only need a 16 Amp single phase cable, however in order to future proof yourself I'd recommend a 32Amp single phase cable

170 pounds buys a lot of petrol....do you really need it ?
