3 Phase can be a lot more than a few thousand (son had to pay £15K) and it brings with it a whole load of complications. Do you have PV and if so is your inverter 3 phase?
There are very strict rules about the wiring of the domestic circuits so that you can't have a fault that goes across 2 phases which exposes you to well over 400 volts (in simplistic terms).
Son took over a year to get a smart 3 phase meter, but has finally succeeded and is now benefitting from payments for exported power at last.
