We are expecting our MG ZS in a few weeks. It's our first EV.

Just wondering if a passer by or kids playing can unplug the car from the charging cable? Or is it locked in? If not has anyone had any problems with it being unplugged?

When you lock the car it locks it in. I'm not personally aware of any folk trying to unplug or nick them.

If you use rapid chargers it’s worth being mindful that someone if they so desired could hit the emergency cut of button to stop the power, but personally if using a rapid charge for the vast majority of the time I would stay with the car except if I needed to get a drink or use the local facilities.

Car will only charge when it is locked. Cable is locked in when in charge. Cutting the cable with 7Kw running through it is usually a one off offence as it results in premature demise.?
