We collected our ZS ev just before the lockdown so now have just over 1000 enjoyable miles on it.
We have however had a serious charging issue using our Zappi Charger which harvests from our solar array on the roof.
We would connect the car and let it charge but it would all shut down after only a few miles were added every time, saying charge complete at 98%.
The granny charger supplied with the car also appeared to suffer the same problem, shutting down before adding many miles.
We have had many conversations with Darren at Zappi and he researched what had been happening with other Zappi users.
Ultimately he got to the bottom of the issue which is with the signals getting to the car and not with the Zappi:
In our house we use plug-in TP-Link units that send the internet signal around the house in the ring main as many people do, making the internet more widely available.
If you use these units, unplug them when you charge the car and miracle of miracles the car charges fully using the Zappi or the granny charger! The internet however does not work so well!
I don’t know if this cure has been shown on this Forum but this is our experience for all. After charging, the TP-Link can naturally be plugged back in.
It’s an issue MG shoul be told about so their software upgrades can be adjusted to resolve this.
