Cost savings between petrol/diesel/electric

stupid question - i'm with SSE electricity - i've signed up to look online but i cannot for the sake of it find what my unit cost is. i've had a google and on the standard tariff its 18.90p/kWh

does that unit cost look a bit too high?
My unit cost is 28.something, that looks very low for the current climate, unless you are still on a fixed deal... I would have a look at your account online as they will always tell you what your unit cost is (y) Then when you know I can add it to the spreadsheet.

I had existing solar panels and loads of wasted exported solar so getting an ev made perfect sense.
In nearly 3 months of having the MG ZS it gets top up charges daily for free from surplus solar through the Zappi charger and has had big charges from economy 7 at 11p a unit only about 5 times so far.
All public car chargers here in Northern Ireland are free also.
The fuel saving from the 1.6 petrol car is paying the lease for the ev.

Wait what..... There's a spreadsheet?!! Send me a link please.

These are my electricity prices with PowerNI in Northern Ireland. Not sure how they compare with mainland prices. Low I think.

Wait what..... There's a spreadsheet?!! Send me a link please.
I don't have a link, it's something I manage locally on my machine, just to give people comparisons between their costs and that of the average ICE car. Helps us increase the level of smug when we drive past a fuel station :ROFLMAO:

In Northern Ireland most of the public charge points, 337 I think, are run by ESB e-cars NI and are absolutely free!! Please add to your list as we are in the UK.
You can imagine the smugness I'm sure, when we're loading our free fuel into our SUV 😁
As awesome as this is I am not going to start adding various free charging services into it, sounds like that is for a different thread that someone else can keep updated lol.

You can just activate maximum smug when you plug in there :)

Found it!! i had to download a bill for it to be shown

Estimated cost for you on this tariff
Tariff name Standard Tariff type Evergreen
(A tariff with no end date or exit fee)
Payment Method Direct Debit
Unit rate 28.02p per kWh
Standing charge 42.25p per day

Na need to share the love I have had this deal in Feb (still available now) just don't have a car to charge if only there was a way to plug charge cable into house 🤔
I've looked at their ovo drive tariff and it doesn't say anything about 5p per kwh for charging your car, so it looks like they ended that. The rates are day 43.83/nignt 30.09.

Their FAQ under the question how much will it cost to charge my ev states:

"This depends on the size of the EV’s battery. For example, a Renault ZOE has a 52kWh battery, so charging it with an average OVO Drive rate of 39.3/kWh would cost just over £20.44. The ZOE has a 245 mile range, which means you’d be paying £0.08 per mile. Interested in finding out more about charging costs? Read our guide on how much it will cost to charge an electric car at home, workplace and abroad"
