Cyberster Dashcam Success

Can anyone help with the removal of the drivers side knee panel? I see in the pictures how it should release, but I cannot seem to get the clips nearest the door to release. I am concerned that I will snap the panel with the force I am having to apply. Has anyone any suggestions as to how those last 2 clips can be released without breaking the panel please?
you need to pull the rubber door seal off a bit and remove the plastic side panel. There is a screw under there that needs to be removed

Thank you. That was great advice. Here are photos showing the first panel which must be removed.

If it helps anyone else with accessing the inside of the trim to install a dash cam, I have found that the service and maintenance manual provides step by step instructions about how to remove internal trim (along with other instructions).

The thread here Cyberster Mechanical Manual
advises that the link to MG Europe can provide access to it. Register and pay for 1 hour of access for 6 euros and you can get it for yourself.

I installed my dashcam and used the power from the ceiling light module. This is really nearby and delivers 12V while the car is switched on. My dashcam runs on 12V. If the uses device runs on USB, a current adapter is needed.

I documented it on my website at skyynet.de/cyberster in German but you know how to run DeepL or similar...

I won't unplug it again, but here more explanation.
  • In the first photo, you'll see the lights module with two silver clamps facing to the mirror. Place a plastic tool there or just draw it gently down.
  • Second photo shows the plastic cover at the mirror. Just level it from the hole. Both are very easy and don't need much force.
  • Third photo I placed the cable from the front into one of the vent(?) holes and fiddled it to the now open area at the mirror. From there further to the hole, where the light module sits.
  • There, you insert the red and black cable of the dashcam cable into the black (-) and white-black striped cable (+) you see at the right hand of the picture. Fix it with hot glue or tape. That's it.
