Cyberster Software Versions

A quick update - took our GT into WLMG Ruislip (really nice guys and super helpful) to try and do an update from r31 to r34 after an hour trying to do it via usb they could not get it done. A case has been raised with MG.
Lol dont leave your car with them ever. Maybe try Beaconsfield.

My mom takes her KIA there. Its convenient but I wouldn't. Im constantly asking her what they did and did they check the software nothing on the paperwork suggests the most important item on an EV. Outstanding, available, most up to date what year? What version? No idea....I took my Nissan 350Z there couple of years ago. They ragged it to high heaven then quoted me silly prices to get stuff done. Not to mention they dont mention anything about software updates regarding our KiA. You need to do the digging and ask. Theres a service plan but you still pay extra money for things that should be part of a service plan. Ok maybe MOT and Wiper blades aren't. But youre paying a hundreds for inspections and not much else.

They also tamper with dashcams in the car and dont plug it back. My brother has seen them joyriding peoples cars. Maybe the guys you deal with are different people. I rather deal with a dealership attached service center where the car is sold like St Albans or Beaconsfield. Theyll know the car better as they sell them. Ideally techs that have had training on the car inside out at HQ.

I'm picking up my car in Austria tomorrow. Asked the dealer to install the latest software, and asked to use a 12V charger during the process. Curious what version I will get there..

A bit as expected unfortunately. It seems that updates are not a priority at MG.
Unfortunately, the manager who arranges everything for me is hospitalized. As soon as he is present again, we will continue here. A ticket has also been created here at MG Europe. So, patience.
Van Mossel has been earily silent towards me for weeks now too. Didn't even get the floor mats in yet...

…and? Which version does it have?
R31... Not that I'm too bothered. The only useful stuff on the screens all came from Android Auto. If it's true the sound from the speakers would improve with an update, that would be the only reason I take it to the dealer. It's just awful right now..

I suggest that the dealership is asked to put the 12v battery on charge while performing the update. Note how low the battery is maintained by the built in system. Below is a graph showing the level maintained by the automatic system while the car is stationary for several days. The car was not used for the whole period shown here. The below graph shows a 60 minute sample rate, so some of the short charges from the HV battery are not logged. The smart charging system (from hv battery) seems to be initiated when the 12v battery drops below about 11.8v (which is quite low).

On my way back to Belgium, I parked the car so we could go eat some pizza. Just a 30 minute stop. When getting back in the car, there was a loud voice message saying non-stop "Warning. Low voltage". Immediately, I thought of some posts about 12V battery issues. But then I realised it came from the walkie talkie that we used to communicate between the 2 cars. 🤭
