Cyberster - what we know so far

Noticed the Ohme Charger app now lists the Cyberster in its cars you can choose

I do not know about the Trophy but my GT has 11 kW on board charging. I doubt MG is putting in different chargers, specially as the Trophy can also be bought with 77 kWh battery.
Looks to me that the app is not accurate.
For information about charging:
100 % shows 503 km
80 % shows 391 km
My current average consumption is 17.8 kWh /100km, mainly comfort mode and once in a while spirited accelerating.

All range figures are estimations; actual range will depend on many factors. More so than ICE cars, whose actual range varies too.

But also remember that as the battery SoC decreases, the battery voltage decreases (more so for NMC batteries than for LFP). The lower battery voltage means that the car draws more current for the same power, so the battery usage is slightly higher at lower SoC, all other things being equal. So those figures may be more accurate than merely multiplying 503 by 0.8 = 402 km.

You could argue that this should be factored into the displayed SoC, but I don't think that's usually done.

Some more impressions.

This is probably related to the 32A maximum that my Ohme charger has been set to (so it does not trip my house electrics) and the app is showing the max charge rate it can achieve based on that and not what the car is capable of.

Received an email from my MG dealer today:
Latest update from MG reference Your new MG Cyberster Trophy, MG Dealer Demos should Come Late August and Sold Orders Mid-September I will keep you informed any more update or when it arrives.

So no change to my prediction 2 months ago, it's going to arrive when I'm on holiday at the end of August.

So that equates to 3.49 miles per kWh for those who prefer this format. Not bad at all :)

What I forgot to mention concerning consumption is that the aircon is working on 22 degree celsius in auto mode and the outside temperature is 33 degree.

In the on board statistic it shows that 8 % of the consumption is used by the aircon.

Good to hear from owners that they are enjoying the Cyberster experience,
Don’t think here in the uk we will have to use the aircon as much.
Enjoy I have no real idea when my GT will be being delivered here in the uk,

In exactly the same position. Ordered day 1 (GT in red with black/red interior) and heard absolutely nothing from the dealer, unless I email, and he says I'll let you know as soon as I know anything. I know it’s not the dealers fault but some clarity from MGUK to dealers that they could pass on would help. Sold my 2022 Tesla M3P over 2 months ago now and not sure I can cope much longer. Been to look at a ‘73 Taycan 4S over the weekend and am test driving the new M3P on Friday.

Same story here, although they did forward me the note from MG about cars stuck in port waiting for the registration paperwork. Certainly is frustrating. Although I'm keen I have no time pressure to sell the car it's replacing, but it would be handy to know so I could put it on the market at the right time.

I think I have to say AMAZING THAILAND

The Cybersters arrived at Bangkok port on a Friday. The following Monday morning our car was in Phuket, 650 Miles from the port, and on following Friday morning was handover. One guy was so keen he picked it up even Thursday evening.
Turn around time from arrival to handover 7 days, and I got the windows tinted with a film during that time as well, and of course it got insurance.

Keep my fingers crossed for you guys that you can at least enjoy the last warm days top down. You will not regret to wait a bit longer.

Yes, same with me. MG had been frustratingly quiet in providing updates. I placed my order on Day 1, and hardly heard a peep from them. Email after email just getting ignored. The sales stage is where customer service is meant to be at its peak, and tends to go down once the sale has gone through. However, they are giving me nothing at all. This has led me to cancel my order now and look elsewhere. I mean the 8.9% interest rate also played a factor, but I just got tired of being the one who kept chasing. This forum has given me more info than the dealerships have.

Im not suprised as if staff actually joined the groups and forums and showed a little interest theyd be at the top of things. It interesting you can tell by the lack of updates what after sales might be like..

I didnt get a call back so I rocked up to the dealer. He said not sure where you got 8.9% from we haven't been told anything. They havent started building the Cyberster area yet. Even though i expected it to have been done by now. He said Ill contact you on 20th August. The demo should be here by end of the month. Whats funny is that while he was on holiday the Cyberster was available to test drive in North Africa..says it all really....At the dealer Apparently only 3 other people have deposits down. Which means other dealers are dealing with similar single digit orders. He probably jumped on the blower as soon as i left to the 3 others. I was the one telling him about the port situation when MG should have been updating them to forward onto customers on whats happening.

I told him about my situation and im not prepared to wait forever. Its also not a good sign of aftersales tbh. Honda were probably the only Non premium manufacturers that took customer service seriously. Just doesn't fill you with confidence. What EV needs is a booming specialist and aftermarket community that means you dont have to deal with dealers. Something like Japanese and German specialists you can buy service packs and warranty from and they actually do a good job. Updating you and sending videos of the work done and what needs doing. Proper transparency.
