I had my windscreen damaged by a passing truck. My insurance company arranged for the car to go to Autoglass for a replacement. A diagnostic check was carried out on the screen and it was found that ACC (adaptive cruise control) was not working. On inspection a wire was found to be cut next to a tywrap on the loom to the screen. The local dealer was not interested as they were giving up the franchise. I eventually soldered the two ends together and wrapped the cable. All now working OK. Car booked in this coming weekend to have the screen replaced. I’ve been told the software can be downloaded to the car over the air and also by their Bosch System. The car was only two weeks old when this happened and why was this fault not picked up at the PDI. I have to assume Autoglass are being honest about this and why would they have a sharp instrument next to the loom.
