Rear Dashcam Installation - has anyone removed the trim on the top of the tailgate to get the cabling through to the camera position? How does it come off? Looks like there's a wide retaining clip at the top. Which bits do you pull?

I tried getting cables through from the rear to the front of the car in the headlining but there appears to be a metal bar half way down the car that's getting in the way. Anybody had any success - if so, how did you do it.

Thanks for any help.

Do you mean this part? If so, I have the same question. I want to position the rear cam just below the plastic cover.

Yes, that's it. I can get fingertips into the gap at the top but that long clip stops it. Maybe I'll try a trim tool on the bottom edge.

Are you attempting to gain access to the rubber cable conduits too? I flexed the clip as far as I dared but was afraid that I'd break it if I went too far.

Yes, when I get a chance I'll try a trim tool near the glass 🙄. It must come off. Might have to ask the dealer how to get it off. Knowing Arnold Clark they'll want me to pay ££'s to scan the system beforehand!!!

Had my dashcam fitted professionally this morning. The trim in question popped off in seconds. Very neat job, using the rubber conduits to route the wires. All cables really well hidden.
