Hi everyone from a newbie . Recently collected our car 23 rd Dec through motability. Can anyone advise me if we should only have the 3 pin house charger included . Only that's all we have . I am sure I saw somewhere that motability customers also get the public charging cable included , Thanks in advance 😊

I had my ZS EV in august and i had the public charging lead as part of the deal too and a podpoint 7kw home charger fitted which works well but be warned check with your district network operator that you are not on a loop supply to your property as i had my home charger deactivated after 2 weeks as my supply to the house had to be upgraded and that i had to wait 8 weeks before this was done.I would have thought mobility would have fitted you a home charger and supplied the public charging lead as the 3 pin plug jobbie takes a century to charge.Personally all this should have been pointed out to you at the dealership which if it wasnt i would want a good explanation why this was not offered at the time of the sale.

Mobility has a partnership with BP Chargemaster (or BP Pulse), and you can get a free 7kw charger with them. Think you have to ask for them to fit the charger when ordering the car. If you dont have a cable by then, it has a option for a fixed lead (tethered) with the charger.

They offered us a home charging unit but due to no driveway could not do that , we presumed stupidly that a public charging cable would be supplied ,but only a 3 pin cable was in the boot . We soon realised that alot of public charging units do not have tethered cables and hence we can not charge .

We can not take up the offer of this as we don't have a driveway. All we need is a fast charging cable to use for bublic charging , alot of them do not have tethered cables and so we can't charge .

the cables are not expensive, I think I paid £138 for mine back in june, but bear in mind the free chargers and supermarket chargers are only 7Kw, but the tethered ones can be 150 KW or more, use zap map to look for charging stations in the area you live

I like you thought that the car had a cable with it and didn't find out until the day we collected it. decided to buy one from MG on the day £179.bit pricey, but we knew we would need to charge often and a granny would take too long. Realised too late that they were a lot cheaper on Ebay etc. It did come in a nice MG bag though .

I got my ZS EV through Motability 3 weeks ago. I was never told that the car only came with the granny charger - despite telling the Motability specialist I had no ability to charge at home.

I ended up putting a post on the Facebook group which was read by the dealer and they then gave me the type 2 cable for free (after originally wanting to charge me £180)
