Hi. I'd just like to know if anyone has the same problem that I'm having. I have an MG4 that's 8 months old and I use it as a taxi. The problem I'm having is that I can feel the steel frame of the driver's seat through the foam on the side cushions. The seat has the half leather on it. I brought to the MG garage where I bought it but the technician said it was OK and that's just the way the seats are. Anyone else got this problem???

Unfortunately that seems to a standard reply from the dealer. Oh, that's just the way it is. Or that's normal. The favourite being it's a "Characteristic" 🙄
If it goes any worse, go to the dealer again, and don't be fobbed off. Especially as apparently the seats are only guaranteed for 12 months. 🙂👍

6ft4 24stone fat man here. I must admit I do not feel the seat frame. However I have only done 9000 miles so far.
I do think the side cushions are a bit too soft and easy to wear out based on my ZS EV. Could probably do with a seat cover with increased padding.

No problem with mine and I'm 6ft tall and 112 kg, so I wouldn't accept that it's the way the seats are unless you are larger than me.
Hi. Yes, I'm actually 108 kg and 6 ft as well. There's 17 k kilometres on the car. I don't think a seat should feel like this. When I argued back to the technician I was told that's the end of the discussion. Great customer service. Not.

Currently 151.3kg but was 165kg and before than closer to 170kg. 1.83m.

I find the seat comfy enough, but I am a passenger, if that makes a difference.

Had the car since July 23.

Hi. It just seems to be the driver's seat. It's half way down the side cushion and approx 2 inches in; I'm presuming it's the steel frame of the seat. It's like the foam isn't thick enough and I can feel something about 2 inches long . I'm also sitting in it 8 hrs a day which doesn't help, but I would expect more from a new car.

Is there another dealer you can try ?

I have exactly the same problem. 1.83m 95kg wide hips.

I partially blame the plastic cover at the right for the electric switches. It limits the expansion of the "flaps", so you stab the plastic cover a bit, the you have to move the bum a bit to the left and then you get the frame on the bottom of the seat.

Very annoyed with that. I think this is exclusively a problem in the Trophy right hand drive models.

I found an issue driving long distances in our Trophy, but in the passenger seat. I am just over 1.83m and a rather excessive 147kg,. The problem I had was pain in the RHS of my ribcage.

Kept having to move around.

Hi. I went to another MG dealer to get a service done to keep the warranty in place. I showed him the seat and he said that that's not good. He said he would make a claim to MG UK for me, but they said it's not a manufacturer problem, so where can I go from there? I actually unzipped the seat to see what's going on with the seat, and what I found was the foam had split, and a square lug attached to the frame like a bracket welded to the frame. Why it's there I just can't work out. I will try to post the video ASAP.

I'm posting the photos now.
