Engine oil circulation

Hi all,

As we all know, our engines come on and go off all the time.
What worries me is, when they come on, they sometime rev straight up to 2200 rpm, sometimes even more.
Surely this is bad for the engine, the oil can't have time to lubricate things. I was always told never to rev the engine after start up, let it idle so that the oil can get up to the top and lubricate.

I wouldn't worry about it.
Used to own a Honda Civic Type-R which idled on a cold start at 2000rpm by design and there was never any issue arising.

OK, but how many times a day did you start your Civic ?
Our engines and restarting about every 2 minutes when driving around town. .

I must admit it was one of the things that put me off the idea of a hybrid when I went BEV.
