My evaporator needs replacing in my MG4 already. I got it in November of 2022. I was told it is not under warranty as it's not the "engine", which I find ludicrous. I'm also not happy that at 3 years I need to replace such a big part.

Anyone else have evaporator issues?

Are you sure the evaporator needs replacing, I think this would be an uncommon item to fail, what's the actual problem?
Well, it was diagnosed at the mechanic. He put dye in it in September and gassed it up to try and locate the issue. They have gone through the engine today, no dye, therefore he has stated that means it's a leak in the evaporator, which requires the dashboard being pulled down to reach. All of which has me cringing.

I've contacted the Company who has the dealership for the Caribbean who will submit the report to MG directly to find out if under warranty.

Yes but what's the problem, has the A/C stopped working, any fluid leaks anywhere, weird smells?
Ah, sorry, ac stopped blowing cold and a weird smell. It first happened back in September, at which point once the Ac was on, a horrific noise was accompanying it. So I kept the ac off until I could get it checked. They put in the dye, changed a seal they found needed replacing and gassed it up.

Thankfully this time, the noise is not back, just the weird smell and the hot air lol

Hmmm, it doesn't sound good, I presume you, or the garage have changed the filter?
Def not me, but yes, the vehicle is serviced. It's been a nightmare on this island for the brand sadly. The most recent garage that became the dealer this year, has already given it back due to issues getting parts and support out of China.

The warranty relating to A/C is worded rather strangely.
It's listed under exceptions but the exact wording is "AIR CON RE GAS" so taken literally, failure of a component part IS covered (because it isn't specifically excluded) whereas re-gassing for whatever reason is not

ahah! See, that's why I contacted the company responsible for the region to ask and they are reaching out to MG directly.

The garage here who is handling the warranty, told me no, but I refused to take that at face value as the evaporator is a major part as far as I'm concerned and I do not have a money tree in my front yard.

Hmmmm....... The garage could put a scope camera either side of the evaporator to see if there was any dye present, the variation is pressure on the low side will tell if the evaporator is working or not ...... I think they may have jumped to conclusions ...... maybe it is vent door malfunction ......
