Excite v Exclusive

I wasn't entitled to the affinity discount though I got the 5year interest free loan from the Scottish gov. Exclusive fir me ?
Use of the EST loan was a qualifying criteria for me - they seem to change (or enforce) the rules when they feel like it though.

I went Exclusive for roof rails - cancelled my SR order when the LR was announced for the increased load capacity.

Fraser's of Falkirk had a policy that if you qualify for the EST loan, they automatically put you on the Affinity scheme.

For me it was the amount of discount offered plus less things to go wrong, more driving involvement and cloth seats so Excite all the way. However which ever one you picked vers and ICE your a winner.

Interesting that no one has mentioned the battery / extra range. That was the initial reason for me, roof bars came in second, but in hindsight the roof bars are up there as a reason to go with exclusive.

To replace our old S-Max (7 seater) with only 5 seats, we needed space - to be able to put on a roof box and manage longer trips just that little bit easier was a major point for us.
95% of the time - I'm sure an Excite would be fine. I'm not particularly excited (no pun intended) with all the other features of the Exclusive. Lane Keep Assist just annoys me and I switch it off - would rather stay alert myself. Adaptive Cruise Control is just fine.

Are you getting mixed up between SR and LR? The LR excite has the same battery as the LR exclusive. The exclusive-only features are (as far as I remember them):

Roof bars
Faux leather seats
Electric driver's seat adjustment
Heated seats
Heated & electrically foldable wing mirrors
Keyless entry
Rear USB sockets

Excite has the same MG pilot capabilities as the exclusive (e.g. lane keeping, ACC).

Yes - totally mixed up - my bad. I was comparing SR Excite with LR Exclusive!

Unfortunately I didn't qualify for the Affinity scheme but got the EST loan. The EST is a pain in the arse with all the paperwork and conditions but worth it in the end. The loan had to be tajen up within a time limit and not knowing when the car was coming this proved to be tricky. Worked out well in the end. ?

My point is that if you used Frasers and you qualified for the EST loan you also automatically qualified for Affinity. What dealer did you use?

Both versions of the LR have USB sockets in the back.

Not according to the MG website, and my 22 plate MG5 LR excite doesn't have them (I just checked).
I think the feature which the LR Excite gained over the SR was the auto dimming rearview mirror - guess the module used for MG Pilot contained the power connections needed so it was as cheap to add this than not.
