Exclusive vs Trophy - what are the main differences?

Hello, when I first ordered a Trophy (for £29.5k) the older pre-facelift Exclusive models were still selling for £25k+ and it seemed like a no brainer to go with the newer model.

Now however there are quite a few Exclusives around for just over £20k, which could result in a pretty significant saving.

The main differences I can see are:

• shorter range (163 miles vs 273)
• front looks worse
• awkward charging port
• poor and buggy infotainment system

Thank you! They’re not deal breakers for me but all nice to haves I guess. Lots of small incremental updates that I guess over the cars lifetime (hoping to hold onto it until it dies)

For me the long range gives freedom from charging anxiety. Most journeys can now be done without thought apart from plugging into Hypervolt at end of day If need be.

Just had this vehicle system control fault from a grid serve @ north Strensham services. I have 2022 zs ev long range 2 months old: I just turned everything off and went and got some food when I returned it had gone away so I put the car back on a different charger and all seemed to be ok. I read elsewhere that this fault can occur from when the 12v battery is depleted and by leaving it for 5 mins with everything off and locked it fixes itself.

Don't know or care but I do know if you unlock the car it pauses charging to remove cable

Just my opinion.
The only disadvantage of the Exclusive over the Trophy for me is the shorter range.
Everything else is unnecessary for my needs. I don't need apps to do everything, I like to keep things simple at my age.
As for the front looking worse, I think the new model's front looks bland TBH and one of the things that puts me off upgrading. I'll wait and see what the 2023, 3rd gen looks like with a similar front to the MG4.
The charging port is a little awkward but apparently more robust than the new one, some have managed to break theirs off, I've seen no reports of anyone breaking the old one.
The poor and buggy infotainment system is slow but usable, the only complaint I have is the delay and short length of time the HVAC controls stay on the screen.
In trying to improve the car I think MG have overcomplicated the new system without increasing the computing power.
