Hi all,
New to this forum and EV in general, so seeking help regarding schedule charging and the best charger for the vehicle.
I have purchased a 2020 plate ZS and my installer recommended a Rolec QUBEV smart charger. I have had this installed and have been using the QUBEV app but it will not schedule charge due to what is described on the forum as "Deep Sleep" mode on the vehicle. If I unlock and then relock the vehicle charging will commence. I have tried various lengths of time before schedule charging commences, but nothing will work unless it is within 20 minutes of locking the vehicle.
I have been told by my local MG dealer that the vehicle has had all its updates and there should be no problems. If I use the "granny" charger I can plug this in and then switch it on 4 hours later and it will charge, but as I travel 50 miles per day this is really not practical on a 2Kw charger.
Has anyone found a 7Kw charger that overcomes this problem, or a way of using the Rolec QUBEV charger to schedule charge at cheap rate off peak. If I have to sell the QUBEV and purchase another model, so be it, it is better than waiting up until midnight to unlock and then relock the car.
Thanks in advance
Chris
