Fast charging points between Devon and Gatwick

Elecroverse shows a Fastned at Colombus Way Andover SP10 SNP together with the usual Greggs. So just before the M3
I haven't used it but the Fastned station in E Anglia are always reliable.

Hi all, I’m driving from Devon to Gatwick via the A303. Can anyone recommend any good fast charging stations en route.
Hi, I think you mean Rapid DC chargers.
Zapmap is a good place to start. Use the filter to show multiple chargers not just single units

Thanks, I usually charge at home it in this case I will need a charge on the way and on the way back and can’t see the point in the 7 kw chargers and need somewhere to charge whilst having a coffee/ snack break.

There are loads, especially as already mentioned Solstice Park, Amesbury, just off the A303, easy access, has a big capacity with Gridserve and Instavolt,

Although I like to use Tesla Superchargers, wherever possible and must be the ones open to all car makes.

The favourite for me on the way to Gatwick is at Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking, there's a nice restaurant and cafe, but it's not as easily accessible as others, depends what time you have spare.

An important thing to remember if going away for a holiday is to leave the traction battery over 50% State Of Charge (SOC) as I've read some have experienced returning to a flat 12v battery and not being able to start the car as below 50% the traction battery wont charge the 12v battery, I'm not certain this is a fact, but I always leave enough in the traction battery to get me home on the return trip if possible, I also (like lots of savvy EV drivers) carry a small jump start kit under the drivers seat, don't leave it in the boot as it's a real struggle to access the boot with no power.

I'm sure someone reading this will enlighten us all if leaving the car for longer periods with less than 50% SOC is potentially hazardous to the 12v battery..

Depends on your route but TESLA in Exeter (Showrooms), Instavolt just outside Winchester on the A34, TESLA at the Solar Solstice park at Amesbury
Also a great Tesla at Darts Farm, Exmouth Rd, Exeter EX3 0QH, a really good cafe, restaurant and good quality shops.

I also recommend the electroverse app, you can get a card for using on the chargers to make it easier or just use the app and your normal payment method. along with checking the maps for the speed they all charge at. (The app lets you monitor the charge too)

Yes the Octopus Electrverse card is good, but I still prefer Tesla where they are available to non Tesla car owners.
Tesla's prices are very keen too, charging costs vary, with non-members typically paying around 60p per kWh, quite a saving on some ridiculously expensive options.
