Hi All, I'm sure some of this has been discussed before but I can't find it all in one place or specific answers.

My car is going in for its first service to an MG dealer. I am not on a service plan.

Questions are :

1. What can I expect in terms of paperwork to take away. - invoice with work done? Health Check etc...
2. Do I get confirmation in writing that they have renewed the AA cover or should I ask for it in writing.

Basically I want show as much paperwork as possible if and when I sell the car to prove it's had its first sevice, what work was done and the AA membership is live.

3. How do you view the digital service record? I can't find anywhere on the latest iPhone MG app to view it.

TIA

Only had mine since Monday but noted it didn't come with a service record book (but there is a badly PDF'd version on the MG Map Update site) - was wondering if this is normal?

You won't get any written conformation of AA membership. I suggest you phone them to check. When I had my first service the dealer assured me the car had been registered. Soon after I had to call them(Flat tyre) repair kit wouldn't work split in side wall.
Called AA was told car not registered by dealer. The lady at the AA kindly sorted it for me so any new owners be aware.

Warranty still valid?? My MG4 was registered on 12th April 2024 and I have the first service booked on 21st May because I could not get a sooner appointment. Do you think that my 7-year warranty will remain intact? I did book the service through the car lease company. I have tried calling MG but can never get though. On the service booking confirmation I received it does state "service interval met."

It'll be fine ... anyway it's the lease company that need to worry about the warranty, not you - the car is theirs not yours, you're merely renting it.

In my reading that would invalidate your warranty... t&c's state...
"Each main service is carried out within 1000 miles / 1609 kilometers or 28 days of the recommended mileage interval or service anniversary date, using Original Equipment Specification parts and fluids"

True, unless you had any intention of purchasing at the end of the rental... though I suppose, in that case, you could give them a cheeky offer of £5000 as the vehicle has no warranty :)
