I'd have thought the chances of counterfeit cells getting into the production of the battery packs is zero.

If the EV battery refurbishing company in the UK can detect individual faulty cells and replace them then I would think the same tests will have been done by SAIC before being installed into the car.

It would also be in SAICs best interest to make sure this doesn't happen as it would cost them their reputation (I know? ) and millions of pounds for the safety recall.
