Just wondering if anyone has fitted driving lights to an MG4?

I am looking to fit a set to mine when I get it. Want something to supplement the high beam on longer trips but would prefer they are not too prominent. Also where have you fitted the switch, relay and tapped into the wiring?

There has been some chatter about that on here before, but I can’t find the thread… I’ll edit this post once I’ve found it.

Edit: I’ve found the thread I was thinking about but don’t think it offers much more info tbh:

I did find this, but I don’t think that’s what you’re after is it?

There is also a dude on YouTube that put a light bar on his MG4:

And also found this video:

A little progress today.

I have ordered a Co Light LED 20" Lightbar + Wiring Kit. Should be here in about a week.
The Reg Plate was fitted at the top of the bracket, I have now shifted it to the base of the bracket. This leave enough room above to fit the lightbar and should not obstruct the camera.

According to some research, the switch line for the relay is supplied from the Grey/White wire to the headlight. This will turn off the bar when the auto switching operates.

Another job is to fit my Dashcam. This will involve running the rear camera lead inside the headlining. Then a power lead from a switched supply + another line to the 12v battery. Need to buy some thin double sided tape to fit the front unit. Having a dashcam saved me a lot of hassle when my previous car was smashed by a Tesla 3.

I have also ordered LED Bulbs to replace all the incandescent bulbs.

I looked at a few reviews for Co Light LED bars, and those I have seen look OK. They are cheap enough. If they are no good they can be easily replaced, fitting and mounting the wiring is the hardest bit. Will add some pics of the installation when I do it.

My LED Lightbar has arrived and I bought some other bits from local suppliers (wire, connectors etc.)
Today I got the bar mounted, to see if it would fit OK and make sure it does not interfere with the forward camera. All seems OK.

Like it! Love the reg. And like the take on the front badge. 🙂👍

Has it affected the radar which is behind that panel? 🤷‍♂️
I don’t think it would, I looks like the bar was mounted on the black plastic that holds the license plate, and the actual plate is mounted on the lower half. Some Australian plates are smaller than the standard EU size

What @ReintjeWA is correct.
I removed the Black Plastic mount plate. The Reg was originally mounted at the top but I lowered it to the base. Then mounted the lights on the top half. I did not see any sensors behind the mount.
Last night I did not notice any changes to the operation of the front camera or the radar sensor.

I will be taking it all off again to run the wires through, and connect it all up. Will try to mount the switch on the left upper side of the steering wheel cover, that way it is grouped with other light controls.
